(ANSYS APDL THERMAL) Conduction & Convection through wall (Rectangular)

Preference > thermal > ok

Pre-processor >element type > add/edit/delete > add > solid > quad 8 node 77 > ok > close.

Pre - processor > material properties> material models > thermal > conductivity >    isotropic > KXX = 100 > exit.

Pre - processor > modelling > create > area > rectangle > by Dimensions  ( enter X1,X2(X-Coordinates as (-0.5,0.5) & Y1,Y2(Y-Coordinates as (-10,10)) > ok.

Pre - processor > meshing > mesh tool > (select smart size reduce the type of mesh to 4 by using the slider bar ) > select mesh option > select the area of diagram > ok.

Pre - processor > loads > analysis type > new analysis > steady state > ok.

Pre - processor > loads > define loads > apply > thermal >temperature > on lines > (select left side vertical line (high temp zone) source ) > apply > temp > load temp value =60 > ok.

Pre - processor > loads > define loads > apply > thermal > convection  > on right side line > ok >  enter the film coefficient = 20 > bulk temperature = 30 > ok.

Pre - processor > loads > define loads > apply > thermal > heat flux  > select the lines which does not have any scope of thermal distribution which means the heat flux is zero > ok > heat flux = 0 > ok.

Solution > solve > current LS > ok > yes > close.

General post processor > plot results > contour plot > nodal solution > nodal solution > dof solution > nodal temperature > ok.

General post processor > plot results > vector plot > predefined > > in [PLVECT] vector plot of predefined vector, select flux & gradient in left box , select thermal flux in right box > ok.

General post processor > path operations > define path > by location > enter (Path name = i.e. path, Number of points = 2, Number of data sets = 40, Number of divisions = 80) > ok > now enter (point number = 1, enter (X,Y,Z, location = -0.5,0.5,0) > ok > now enter (point number = 2, enter (X,Y,Z, location =  0.5,0,0) > ok > cancel.

General post processor > path operations > map onto path > enter (label = temp001, select DOF SOLUTION where you have to select  temperature TEMP in it.) > ok.

General post processor > path operations > plot path item > on graph > and select temp001 > ok.

Note: You will get a display of the graph having X - Distance & Y - Temperature.

General post processor > list results > path items > recall path by name and select i.e. path > ok > select temp001 > ok. (so that we get a temperature (TEMP001 )values distance wise (S))
